 Clients may be in veterinary facilities  as long as all pertinent COVID-19 Standard Procedures are followed and the total number of individuals does not exceed 25% occupancy including staff.

NM Board of Veterinary Medicine


The use of telemedicine has become an important way to protect the health of your patients and your employees. According to the NM Board of Veterinary Medicine, NM licensed veterinarians are reminded that an established valid veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR) must exist when treating a patient via telemedicine/telehealth.  Licensees are advised to refer to the AVMA for its established guidelines for the use of telemedicine/telehealth. Here’s the link:

Contact CE Waiver
March 19, 2020

Effective immediately, the New Mexico Board of Veterinary Education is waiving the contact continuing education requirement until December 31, 2020.  Online continuing education will be accepted for all 15.00 hours required at renewal.  The waiver applies to the 8.00 hours required for veterinary technicians.
